F&F invests in Food safety!
F&F Europe have installed a new state of the art detector for foreign materials, in their constant drive to ensure that their frozen mushrooms are the best available.
F&F supplies frozen mushrooms to the international Retail, Food Service and Industrial markets. F&F supplies mushrooms as an ingredient to all sectors in the industrial market, including pizzas, soups, ready meals and baby foods, where product safety is the highest priority.
Recently, F&F installed a BEST Helius™ free fall laser detector in their production line to augment their product safety. The Best Helius™ is the optical sorting solution that offers food processing companies the ability to fulfill the constantly growing need for quality products.
With up to 12 individual laser beams, the BEST Helius™ detects defects by color, structure, shape and dimension in a stream of good product. In only a few milliseconds each defect will be removed by powerful jets of compressed air, while the good product will proceed undisturbed. Possible defects are accurately detected minimizing false removal of good product, and for maximum efficiency, the operator can fine-tune to changes in incoming product via the intuitive Graphical interface.
Using short wave infrared technology, the product is analysed for water content and anything that differs from the mushrooms will be removed. With the installation of the Helius™, F&F has finalized a major project to ensure that their frozen mushrooms conform to the highest product safety standards, demanded by their customers.
