 Organic Mushrooms
Consumers are more often choosing to cook and eat healthily and are interested in the social responsibility of their food, so there is likely to be an increasing demand for organic products.
The most important reason for choosing organic products is that you will not be exposed to chemical residues. In the last few years, health has become more important, as have environmental responsibility and animal welfare. A reason to choose organic products is that they are less likely to contain chemical residues, they are more often produced in a more ethical way and do not contain GM ingredients.
Despite the recession, sales of organic products keep increasing.
F&F Europe started selling organic mushrooms to the German pizza industry in 2003, then to a French retailer in 2008 and soon after other retailers followed their example. Now F&F Europe is proud to supply 3 large French retailers with organic mushrooms in private label packaging.
To supply smaller retailers, F&F Europe has developed new packaging for organic mushrooms in their own Frio Frigo brand and has recently introduced this brand with another French retailer.
Besides retail in France, F&F Europe has also recently started to sell organic mushrooms to the industrial market in other European countries.
