15 years of experience in the field of freshly frozen mushrooms!
In July 2007, F&F celebrated their 15th birthday. However F&F’s knowledge of mushrooms goes back even further. In 1969, founder Joep Theeuwen set up his own company to produce and market mushrooms in glass jars, which at the time was an innovative way of packaging as conserved mushrooms were only available in cans. The business grew rapidly and Theeuwen set up several other ventures based mainly around mushrooms. In 1992, Theeuwen founded a new company “F&F Europe”, and history repeated itself. A simple idea - freshly freezing mushrooms - led to great success: F&F is now one of the top 3 producers of frozen mushrooms in the world.

Quality and innovation
F&F are constantly developing new products and concepts. In 2005, F&F installed a brand-new freezing line, which raised both the production capacity, and the overall product quality. Beside the ISO 9001 and HACCP certification which F&F has had, the factory has also been BRC and IFS-certified since February 2006

By now, it is no secret that F&F Europe BV knows how to make a great pizza mushroom. A well-known pizza producer won the Best New Pizza Product prize, in 2005, for a good reason! The jury report praised the structure and the taste of the mushrooms and commented “The fact that the mushrooms retain more of their moisture during baking, ultimately results in a pizza that looks more appetising”, earning extra points secured the award.

Ready for the next step
Despite the success of the pizza mushroom’s , F&F Europe BV is convinced that there is always room for improvement. That explains the large amount of work taking place behind the scenes to optimise the production process. It all starts with how the mushrooms are grown. Pizza mushrooms are cultivated to help prevent excess moisture loss - and therefore taste - during thawing. The fresh mushrooms are sliced to the right thickness to ensure the best baking results. Just exactly how this is achieved remains the chef’s secret. The result is a pizza mushroom with even better flavour and structure.

Innovative, transparent and aimed at the future
In 2005, F&F also introduced an entirely new corporate identity. A company with ultramodern production facilities must be reflected in its corporate identity. With this new corporate identity F&F stands for: innovative, transparent and aimed at the future with no-nonsense attitude.

Successful introduction of two F&F brands
F&F introduced two new brand names in May 2006. F&F Europe BV developed a broad range of deep-frozen mushrooms aimed at the international retail market, under the Frio Frigo brand. A comparable product range, launched under the F&F Champignons brand name, focuses on the international Food Service market. Both ranges contain not only standard products, such as sliced and whole button mushrooms, but also some value added products, such as breaded mushrooms and mushrooms in both a chasseur and a cream sauce.

A new ready to use Pasta sauce containing mushrooms in a spicy tomato sauce is being developed for launch at the Anuga Fair (13th-17th October 2007) in Cologne. With this product a complete meal can be cooked in less than 10 minutes! The mushrooms in tomato sauce are also convenient to use as a base for minestrone or other tomato soups.

For the last 15 years F&F has guaranteed: an excellent, healthy product, which is full of flavour and has a flawless appearance. A product that fully appeals to customers
